Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid
It’s simple to do, so be sure to check steering fluid at least once a year. Consult your Owner's Guide for more information. See Glove Box Manuals to download a copy of your vehicle Owner Guide.
- Start the engine and let it run until it reaches normal
operating temperature (the temperature gauge will be near the center of
the NORMAL band).
- While the engine idles, turn the steering wheel left and right
several times.
- Turn off the engine.
- Open hood and locate the Power Steering Reservoir.
- Check the fluid level in the reservoir.
- If the fluid is low, add fluid in small amounts, until it
reaches the proper range. Replace the cap. Consult your Owner’s
Guide to determine proper power steering fluid.
